Job Description:

Asheville’s first Hispanic station, La Pantera 97.3 is looking for its first Program Director and Morning Host. Join the Asheville Media Group and Saga Communications Inc. LLC team of professionals. You must be passionate about delivering compelling and entertaining content geared toward a growing Hispanic community, on-air, online, and on social media. The right person will understand the importance of connection to the community. We are seeking a multi-talented individual with experience in radio broadcasting, social media management, and audio production. This role is perfect for a creative and energetic professional who can captivate listeners on the air, engage audiences online, and produce high-quality audio content that aligns with our station’s brand and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

On-Air Talent:

  • Host live or pre-recorded radio shows, delivering engaging, relatable, and entertaining content.
  • Curate, prepare, and present music, interviews, news, or other station-specific programming.
  • Build rapport with listeners through interactive on-air content, including live call-ins and contests.
  • Represent the station at promotional events, community activities, and client-sponsored gatherings.
  • Ensure compliance with station policies, FCC guidelines, and broadcasting standards.

Social Media Specialist:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to promote station content, shows, and events.
  • Create and schedule engaging content for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Monitor listener engagement, respond to comments, and foster a positive and interactive online community.
  • Analyze performance metrics to optimize campaigns and ensure maximum reach and engagement.
  • Stay informed on trends, tools, and strategies to maintain innovative and relevant social media presence.

Audio Production:

  • Produce high-quality audio content, including commercials, promos, station IDs, and podcast episodes.
  • Record, edit, and mix audio using professional software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or Audacity).
  • Collaborate with on-air talent, marketing, and sales teams to create compelling audio campaigns.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot studio equipment, ensuring optimal sound quality.
  • Archive audio assets and maintain organized project files for future use.
  • Assist in live production setups for remote broadcasts or events.

Qualifications:

  • Broadcasting: Proven experience as on-air talent, announcer, or similar role in media.
  • Social Media: Hands-on experience managing and creating engaging social media campaigns.
  • Audio Production: Proficiency with audio editing software, familiarity with automation systems and music scheduling software (preferably Musicmaster).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to captivate audiences both on-air and online.
  • Creative mindset and attention to detail in audio production and social media content creation.
  • Basic knowledge of broadcasting equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.

Digital Marketing Sales Representative

Full-Time Position

We are looking for an energetic Sales Representative to help expand our digital marketing footprint in (Market). A self-starter to focus sales efforts on digital marketing services, especially PPC/SEM management, targeted display, and direct response marketing.

While we will provide leads to you that we generate through our website and marketing campaigns, you will need to be aggressive and proactive in generating your own leads through prospecting, cold outreach, networking, events, and prior relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • PPC/SEM management, targeted display, and direct response marketing
  • Discuss initial client needs, prepare proposals, and deliver presentations
  • Understand client’s pain points and eloquently describe our digital marketing solutions and how they will meet client’s goals
  • Always maintain a warm and friendly etiquette with clients, build a relationship with them, and win them over
  • Stay up to date with the latest digital marketing trends
  • Log all lead activity, deals, and status in our CRM

Requirements:

  • Experience selling is a big plus
  • Understanding of digital marketing concepts including PPC, SEM, SEO, social media marketing, display advertising, retargeting, etc.
  • Experience with CRMs
  • Ability to easily build a rapport with prospects
  • Ability to listen to clients, understand their situation, and come up with creative solutions to address their needs
  • Qualify, prospect, present, and close new accounts

Full-Time Position

Asheville Media Group is looking for talented, sharp, savvy, and highly motivated individuals to work directly with business owners, GMs, and ad agencies to develop cool, custom, and effective advertising campaigns. Our Media Advisors have dynamic personalities and are sales-focused while always leading with creative ideas.

Promotion Assistant

Part-Time Position (Hours Vary from Week to Week)

Asheville Media Group is accepting applications for a Promotion Assistant to support the Promotions Department with the “on the street” presence of our radio stations, executing large-scale events and a variety on-site and in-office assignments. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, responsible, organized, and able to manage time and priorities.

Promotion Assistants perform a wide range of tasks which requires the ability to be flexible and respond to changes in direction and priorities. Hours and assignments will vary from week to week.

Examples of workday assignments for AMG Promotion Assistant can include:

  • Preparing and executing on-site promotional events which requires the setup and breakdown of promotional event equipment along with engaging with event attendees
  • Creating assigned website content for AMG brands including contests and sponsored content
  • Contacting contest winners and processing winner release forms along with communicating and coordinating event waivers
  • Creating weekly brand newsletters
  • Recording events or sponsored features (photos/videos) for social channels and recaps of the event and feature

If you’re as comfortable and confident working a fast-paced event as you are assisting with in-office assignments, this job may be for you!

Must be able to lift 35 lbs. Nights, weekends and some holidays will be required. You must be at least 18 years old with a current driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
